IMHO, the Rogers WE MC still stands strong as a no-AF, "no-brainer" CB CC with wide acceptance. If you spend a lot of money, at may actually be worth keeping a card with an annual fee. CIBC Costco Mastercard: worth considering exclusively for Costco use as it can give you 2-3% at Costcoįor paid cashback cards, you may want to check out the TD Cashback Visa Infinite or the CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite.Meridian Visa Infinite Cash Back Card: 4%/2%/1% for groceries and gas/pharmacies & utilities/everything else.RBC Cashback Mastercard: 2% on groceries but otherwise sucks. If you want a no-fee, high cashback "forever" card, there's basically only one other choice: Amex Simpl圜ash, which gives 1.25% back on everything. That said, it's not a fun game for everyone. Travel cards with annual fees are more profitable, and if you're willing to play the game, you can get a good return. If you're not willing to do categories, then 1.5% is basically the max you can expect. Unfortunately, the credit card market in Canada has really shrunk where it comes with no-fee cashback cards. Prefer no fee, but open to a fee if it's the right card for me. All I really care about is a high cashback return - I rarely fly and don't really care about airport perks, insurance, and things like that. Income and credit score aren't really an issue. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't do virtually all my spending in just a couple categories.Īnyway, any suggestions for a top credit card? I know it's subjective and everyone spends differently, but the Tangerine card is almost always listed as one of the best, but in my view I'd rather get 1.5% back on everything rather than 2% back in a couple categories and 0.5% in everything else. Now, I'm looking to move on from this card so that's not really the point, but since they constantly list cards with worse return rates, I don't have a lot of trust in those sites. It's strange - I do Google searches and all the normal credit comparison sites come up, but rarely do they include the Rogers World Elite Mastercard. I've had a Rogers World Elite Mastercard for a few years and I'm looking to change, but I can't seem to find anything that offers the same 1.5% return (or better) from a no-fee card.
